Ingredients required to make banana chips are:
raw banana – 2
water – 1/4 cup
salt as per taste
turmeric – 1/4 tsp
oil for deep frying
Step by step recipe of banana chips is:
- Prepare solution of salt and turmeric by solving salt ½ tsp and turmeric ¼ tsp in ¼ cup of water.
- Peel skin of one banana. Make chips of one banana at a time as it will blacken.
- Slice banana in heated oil directly at low flame. Do it carefully as oil splutter. Slices should be little thicker. Avoid making slices separately as it sticks and become difficult to fry.
- After making slices in heated oil, fry it for one minute at medium flame and stir in-between.
- After one minute, add 2 tsp of salt turmeric solution at low flame.
- Now again fry chips at medium flame till water evaporates completely. Till now color of chips will change to little brown.
- Now take out chips from oil in a separate plate. If possible, use tissue paper to absorb extra oil.
- Now cool down chips to room temperature and store them in air tight container.
